The characters in each of these ten books explore the world of
numbers. They encounter beginning math concepts such as
counting, adding and subtracting. Each book encourages active
participation in the story and includes simple math-related
activities so children can reinforce the concepts they have
learned.
 My
Five Book - Little Five lives in a number world of five. A
child counts many groups of five throughout the fun adventure
from ducklings, rabbits and carrots, to sand castles, seashells,
crabs, starfish and boats. A child has many opportunities to
count, add, and subtract objects. Pages 30 to 32 demonstrate
addition and subtraction, and how to write the number word five.
 My
Ten Book - Little ten plays with her ten robots through the
four seasons of the year. During her many activities, with
the robots and other toys, she demonstrates how these numbers
can be put together and taken apart to make ten items. Children
enjoy relating to the many holiday themes in the story. Pages 30
to 32 show many ways to add and subtract ten in written form,
and how to write the number words.
For schools and libraries, Child's
