Jane Belk Moncure’s many children’s books were inspired by the children she taught for over three decades.  From teaching kindergarten, to teacher workshops, Jane’s 35-year career in early childhood education provides the backdrop for her outstanding contribution to providing a unique learning experience for young children.  With millions of copies of her books in circulation, she is widely read and respected as a teacher and author.

As a Virginia/North Carolina author of early childhood books, she has published nonfiction, fiction and poetry. Schools, libraries and families all over the world have enjoyed the writings of Jane and her books have been translated into British English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Malay.

From the Sound Box Books, First Steps To Reading, Magic Castle Readers, Word Bird Books and The Number Books, Jane invites young children to discover the fun of reading. By creating charming, playful characters, she shares her life long love of books with a new generation in the 21^st century.  The Child’s World, Inc. located in Chanhassen, MN exclusively publishes Jane’s work.
